The European Chamber of Commerce in China, the EU SME Centre, the Delegation of the European Union to the People’s Republic of China and the EU Sanctions Helpdesk are pleased to invite you to Interpreting the EU’s Toolbox Episode 10: EU Sanctions and Chinese Countermeasures – Navigating the New Compliance Landscape, taking place online on 17 September 2026 at 09:00 CET.
For businesses operating between the EU and China, navigating an increasingly complex regulatory environment can present significant compliance challenges. EU sanctions requirements and China’s counter-sanctions framework can affect business relationships, transactions and due diligence processes, making it increasingly important for companies to understand their obligations and identify potential risks.
What to expect
During this 90-minute session, experts will provide an overview of the EU sanctions framework and available resources, alongside insights into China’s counter-sanctions regime and its implications for businesses operating across Europe and China.
The EU Sanctions Helpdesk team will introduce the Helpdesk’s services and provide practical insights into key aspects of sanctions due diligence and compliance, drawing on lessons from case studies. Participants will also hear about the Chinese compliance landscape, including the Anti-Foreign Sanctions Law, and will have the opportunity to raise questions during a dedicated Q&A session.
The session will bring together representatives and experts from organisations including:
- European Commission – DG FISMA
- EU Sanctions Helpdesk
- Industry Experts
- Delegation of the European Union to China
